Villas, flats, holiday lets

Safe opening Alfaz del Pi, for the safe nobody has touched since spring

A keypad that stays dark after months away, a code a guest set and took home, a safe that came with the villa and no instructions. Opened with as little damage as the safe allows; and new safes bolted down where they cannot be carried off.

Open 24 hours · 7 days

  • Batteries and override first
  • Ownership checked
  • Price agreed before work starts

Try this first: fresh batteries, and a look for a small keyhole behind the maker’s badge or under the keypad. Many safes that seem broken are only flat.

Opening

Getting into a safe that will not open

  1. Power and override

External battery contacts, override keys and master codes, where the safe has them.

  2. Working the lock

Mechanical and many electronic locks can be opened without opening up the body of the safe.

  3. One drilled point, if you agree

Only when nothing else works. A new lock goes on, and the safe can be used again.

You are asked to show the safe is yours to open: the deeds, the rental agreement for a let that includes it, or the owner on the phone.

Safes in homes that are often empty

Many homes in l’Alfàs stand closed for months while their owners are away, and a safe is often the one thing left locked. Before you go, take the batteries out or fit new ones, and keep the override key somewhere other than the house. The same thinking for an electronic door lock.

In a holiday let, guests set codes of their own and forget them. With 1,219 tourist dwellings on the register in 2025, owners and agencies will find the rest of what they need on the holiday rental page.

After a break-in, a safe bolted into a concrete floor is worth more than a heavier one standing loose. What else to fit after a forced entry, and ordinary lock changes.

A photo of the safe’s front and the maker’s label can go through the contact page.

Asked before

About safes that will not open

We came back after the summer and the safe is dead. Is it broken?

Probably not. Batteries left in a safe for months drain or leak, and many keypads light up but no longer have the power to move the bolt. New batteries first; many safes have contacts outside for exactly this.

A guest set a code in the holiday flat safe and left. Can you open it?

Yes. The owner or the agency shows the flat is theirs, the safe is opened, and it is reset to its factory code or to one you choose.

The villa came with a safe and nobody gave us the code.

Have the deeds or the purchase contract to hand, and a photo of the safe’s front and label. It is opened, and you set a new code yourself.

Is it worth fixing a small safe to the floor?

Yes. A light safe that is not fixed down can be carried out under an arm. Bolted from the inside into a solid floor or wall, it has to be opened where it stands.

Send us the front of the safe

The front, the keypad or dial, and the maker’s name tell us how it will open. Or ring.
