Night, weekend, the first day back
Emergency locksmith Alfaz del Pi, 24 hours, and a person on the line
Shut out with the keys inside, keys lost on the way home, a key snapped in the cylinder, a lock that jammed as you were leaving. Whatever the hour, ring and a person answers.

- Answered at any hour
- English and Spanish
- Price agreed before work starts
Before you ring, two checks: is there a window, a terrace door or a garage door you left open, and does a neighbour, the agency or a friend hold a set? If neither, ring: you will be asked where you are and what the door is doing, and told honestly how long the drive looks.
In order
What happens between your call and the open door
-
You ring, or send a pin
Where you are (street, or urbanization, or the part of Albir), what happened, and what kind of door it is.
-
You hear how far off the van is
An honest estimate for that address at that hour. Never a made-up number of minutes.
-
You show it is your door
An ID with the address, the rental contract or booking, or the owner on the phone. If it is all inside, it is checked once the door opens.
-
The price is agreed
The lock is looked at, the options explained, and the price agreed before any tool goes near it.
-
You can lock up behind us
Opened through the lock wherever possible. If the cylinder had to come out, a new one goes in before we leave.
The calls
Locked out, lost keys, broken keys: the calls that come at night
-
Shut out, keys inside
A door that was only pulled shut is usually opened through the latch or the cylinder, with no damage to the door.
-
Keys lost
On the beach, on the tram, at the fiestas. The door is opened and, if the keys could end up in other hands, the cylinder is changed before we go.
-
A key snapped or stuck
The broken piece is drawn out, and the cylinder replaced if it was what caused it. A lock that has been stiff for months can be changed on a day you book.
-
A door that won’t lock
The latch will not catch or the multipoint will not throw. The door is made to lock tonight; the proper repair can follow in daylight.
-
A door someone forced
It is made to close and lock now. The stronger lock can come later: see what happens after a break-in.
-
Keys locked in the car
That has its own page, which says plainly what is and is not done for cars.
Here, at night
Three things about l’Alfàs that change a night call-out
Finding the house is half the job
Every urbanization has its official Valencian name and usually another on rental listings: La Foia Blanca or Foya Blanca, L’Arabí or El Arabí, El Captivador or Cautivador. In the dark, the street sign and a WhatsApp pin are worth more than either. How to give an address that can be found at night, and every urbanization we cover.
The lighthouse path takes no cars
The road to the Faro de l’Albir is closed to traffic. If the keys went missing on the walk, the locksmith meets you at the door, not on the path. What to check before you ring, and more about Albir.
November fiestas run late
The fiestas of the Santísimo Cristo del Buen Acierto fill the town from 7 to 10 November, and the town hall has put on a free night bus for them in past years. If your street is taken over, give the nearest corner a car can reach.
Every way to reach us, and when each suits, is on the contact page.
Asked before
Asked on the phone after midnight
If I ring at three in the morning, does a person pick up?
Yes. The phone is answered at any hour on every day of the year, and someone comes out at night for anyone shut out of a home, a car or a holiday let.
How soon can you be at my door?
That depends on where the van is when you ring and where you are, so no number of minutes is promised. You are given an honest estimate on the phone, for your address at that hour, before anyone sets off.
I have lost the keys and they had the address on the fob. What now?
The door is opened, and the cylinder is changed before the locksmith leaves, so whoever finds those keys cannot use them. Ask for that on the phone so the right cylinder comes in the van.
The key snapped in the lock. Should I try to pull the piece out myself?
Better not: tweezers and hairpins tend to push it further in. Keep the half you still have. It shows how the key broke and helps when the cylinder is opened.
I am staying in someone else’s house and the owner is abroad. Can you still open it?
Usually, yes. Have the booking, a message from the owner or the agency, or the owner on the phone. If everything is inside, it is checked once the door is open, before anything else is done.
